Aubusson rugs, Needle Point and Savonnerie are characterized by point plat weaving. Born as tapestries to adorn the palace walls and then used as rugs. The decorative motifs are generally floral and reflect the classical style, the colors are subtle and the designs take up the decorations in the vaults of the rooms in which they were located. Initially produced exclusively for the royal house of France, then spread in the upper middle class. Needle Point and Aubusson of modern production come mainly from China weaving and retrieving, processing and drawings, models of the most famous examples woven in the ancient royal factories of Aubusson.
