Carpets produce in Sarugh area, intensified considerably towards the end of the 800 due to the strong demand for the export of Ziegler company whose headquarters was in nearby Sultanabad. The solidity of the structure, the elegance of the design and the pleasantness of colors, chosen from among the softer, muted shades, made of Saruk, during the twentieth century, one of the qualities of carpets exported to the West, particularly in the States. The Saruk may have different decorative patterns, but always kind of floral. The colors used are pink (called dughi), blue and beige. Their knots can reach quite high levels density and the pile, in general, is quite high.
